Kindergarten Success Ceremony

Just one more week and my baby will officially be done with her first year of school. Where did the last year go? Today was the Kindergarten program and success ceremony. They did a cute little program about oviparous animals. Maddies group did butterflies and she was also selected for a special praying mantis speaking part.

She was supposed to wear bright green for her praying mantis part, so I bought her a cute little pair of neon green capris. Last night (right before bed) she informed me that she needed a dress or skirt so that she could "curtsy" at the end of her program. I had some bright green fabric in my ever-growing stash, so I made her this cute little pillowcase dress. I even used my new embroidery machine (my wonderful husband gave it to me for Mother's Day!) to embroider an "M" and some butterflies.

After the program the teachers handed out awards and told what each child was most proud of accomplishing this year. Maddie was proud that she had made it to chapter books. We are very proud of our little kindergarten graduate!

It is hard to believe that kindergarten is almost over. Today was field day at school and the kids had so much fun. They played some fun games and even got to go swimming. Here are a few pictures of Maddie with her friends.

Main Street Days....

We went to "Main Street Days" festival friday afternoon. Our friends joined us and the kids had lots of fun. They fed animals, rode a ride, played a game and got to see white tigers and a white lion cub.

My First Baby...

Daddy always brings the kids a treat when he has been gone on a trip. He brought Kenzie a Cabbage Patch baby doll. She is so sweet carrying it around, feeding it and pushing it in the stroller. My baby is growing up!

Swimming!

Still a little too cold for mom and dad, but the kids are enjoying it!
It is supposed to be in the 90's all week, so we should all be swimming by next week.

A rare moment...

Maddie in Connor were actually getting along tonight after dinner.
They were having a grand time playing in the water hose and getting eachother wet.
Ahhh... it is so nice when they get along.

3.5 teeth

Kenzie's teeth are slowly coming in.
She is 16 months and she only has 3.5 teeth.
Such a pretty little smile!

Potty Training Boy

I feel like we have been potty training FOREVER. Connor has been more than able to be potty trained for over a year, but he just did not want to be. I think he is now finally ready. It has been almost a week of wearing "big boy undies" and he is doing pretty well. He has his accidents now and then, but is truly dissapointed when he does. "Can I still be a big boy mommy?" That is what he says when he has an oops. He also likes to wear his underwear backwards so that the characters are on the front.... it looks pretty uncomfortable to me!!!

Kenzie's New Shoes....

She loves to pull all of the coupons out of my coupon drawer. When one of them stuck to her foot and I laughed, she stepped on another one and walked around the house. She LOVES to make us laugh.

Romo is a DAWSON! We had a great trial night... he slept better than the kids. He is such a loving little guy and fits right in with the family. I am so glad that we decided to rescue this precious little pup!

Meet our newest addition........

ROMO!

It is not yet official. We are having a sleepover tonight, but I think that he is going to be a Dawson. Doug has been talking about getting a dog since we moved into this house. I was pretty set against it. I have a pretty full plate as it is, but when I saw this little guy I just could not resist. He is about 3 years old, so we are already past all of that fun ;) puppy stuff. He is house trained, neutered and completey up to date on all of his vet stuff.

We were discussing the dog thing today and I was warming up to the idea. Doug grew up with miniature daschunds, so I said lets find a daschund breeder and also check with the humane society. Doug joked about getting a chihuaha and naming it Rico (Hannah Montana fans would understand.) We pulled into PetSmart to see if they had a list of breeders and human societies.... they were having a dog adoption event! We looked at all of the dogs and came to "Presley", a daschund/chihuaha mix!!! We spent an hour walking him, petting him, holding him and decided to bring him home for an overnight stay. His foster mom has small kids and said that he is great with them. So far, so good. He follows us around wagging his little tail and loves to have his back rubbed!

Maddie was very hesitant about getting a dog. She is not a dog person, but she is quickly warming up to him. She was sitting on the recliner watching a movie and he cuddled right up to her.
SO CUTE!
